ADMISSION PROCEDURE
To apply for admission to Muffles Junior College, an applicant needs to:
1. Obtain an application form from the Muffles Junior College office or from secondary schools in the Orange Walk District. The application form can also be downloaded from the Facebook page or here.
2. Complete and return the application form along with a non-refundable application fee of $25.00 to Muffles Junior College. The form and fee must be received by the deadline stated on the application. If received after the deadline, the application is considered late, and an additional $10.00 is levied.
3. Attach an official high school transcript to the application form. When all required documents have been received, the application is evaluated, and the applicant is informed in writing on the status of his/her application.
MJC reserves the right to review the case of any student who has been implicated in a criminal offence prior to admission to determine eligibility for admission and participation in cocurricular activities. At the time of application students must disclose the final disposition of any past or pending judicial proceedings and submit any pertinent documentation.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. A diploma from a recognized four-year high school, the successful completion of all graduation requirements from a recognized high school, or a high school equivalency certificate. The applicant must have obtained a grade of ‘C’ or higher in Math and English in the final year of high school.
2. ATLIB Examination results. These results are used for placement purposes. The ATLIB Examination must have been sat no later than thirty months prior to seeking admission at Muffles Junior College.
TRANSFER OF CREDITS
Students from another tertiary institution may transfer to Muffles Junior College. In order to receive credit for courses taken at another institution, an official transcript from the institution attended must be sent to Muffles Junior College. Transfer credits will not be accepted for courses in which a grade lower than a “C” has been received. The content of any course being considered for transfer to Muffles Junior College must be at least 80% equivalent to a related course offered by Muffles Junior College. Additionally, no more than 33 credit hours will be allowed for work done at another institution. Students of Muffles Junior College wishing to enrol for a course at another tertiary institution with the intention of transferring this course to Muffles Junior College must discuss this matter with the Dean beforehand. Transfer of credits from other institutions is not an automatic process
